Cocktails: the Gin Anti-lullaby
Creating a refreshing summer drink is all about balance and with my latest obsession with boba toppings, I’ve found ways to incorporate them into my alcoholic routine. I’ve also been a huge fan of the Austin alcohol pop-up, Daijoubu, and their take on milk tea boba cocktail. That’s how I came up with my latest drink.
I’ve taken those delicious jellies you find at the Asian supermarket and added them as an interesting take to my cocktails. TBH the best thing about this is that since the jelly sits in the drink for a while that it gets to be a little, well, strong by the end.
I’ve created a drink called the anti-lullaby inspired by late-night talks with my best friend using flavors she likes. Down below are the directions. \
The Anti-Lullaby
•2 oz @empress1908gin
•1 oz calamansi juice
•2 oz sparkling water
•3/4 oz simple syrup
•2 lychee jellies
Directions
In a lowball glass mash the two lychee jellies at the bottom of the glass adding a large cube of ice afterward. Next, incorporate the sparkling water and simple syrup followed by the Empress 1908 Gin. Lastly, top with the calamansi juice and mix with a bar spoon, keeping the spoon near the glass, Enjoy!
