The Ultimate Guide of the Best Vegan Restaurants in San Antonio
I once read this article that said that SA is like one of the worst cities for vegans. I mean did they really do their research? People have a tendency to do surface-level research but here’s the best list of vegan restaurants so you’ll always have an option. From restaurants to bakeries to food trucks- it should be known, SA’s vegan food movement is here and it’s not going anywhere. A map is coming soon too!
Bakeries
Miss Chickpea Bake Shop

It’s a vegan bakeshop! Like can we stress this enough? They take custom orders too! So now you can randomly buy a cake for no good reason. You can also find their baked goods at other shops around town like Summer Moon and Berry to Bean.
Cake Thieves Bakery
$ // Dignowity Hill
Can we have a solid moment to honor delicious vegan donuts? They’re currently online orders only but will be opening up shop soon. Which means I’ll be moving in soon.
Gopal's Gourmet Bakery
$$ // Custom Orders
Baked goods and drink mixes are their specialties but currently, they’re on custom orders. So make sure you plan ahead and get your orders in.
Kim's Cakes and Events
$$ // Custom Orders
If you have vegan events and want to hire a caterer that’s vegan. Hellooooo! Check out Kim!

If you’re looking for vegan treats, sweets, and everything in between. They have vegan chocolate treats and cakelets. I’m not sure what they are but I want some.
Restaurants
Senor Veggie

Vegan Mexican food and Pupusas. Like, stop everything. Pupusas are life. They also have a lot of gluten-free options for your pleasure.
Viva Vegeria
$$ // The Westside
If you’re a fan of Tex-Mex food you’ve got to have this place on your list. Also, it’s gluten-free and the menu looks soooo delicious.

So Binge Kitchen is an expansion from San Marcos and that means you can’t miss it. The kitchen pushes out delicious vegan comfort food. So come hungry- leave satisfied.
Green Vegetarian Restaurant
$$$ // Two Locations Alon Town Center + The Historic Pearl
The original spot. I’ve been going to Green since it was on N. Flores. Since then they’ve moved to the Pearl and added a second SA location at the Alon. It’s super yummy food, the lemonade is fire and everyone is super nice. My rec- get the nachos with extra jalapenos.
Earth Burger
$$ // Two Locations: Park North + Nacagdoches
One time I brought their Chik-n Tender Basket to the office and people commented on how great it smelled. Personally, they’re a vehicle to consume sweet agave mustard dipping sauce.
Fat Rabbit Kitchen
$ // Marbach
They have a pizza night, a wingless night, a lot of other themed nights. Pre-order to avoid long waits.

Pharm Table
$$$ // Downtown
So the coolest thing about Pharm Table is the freshness of quality. I think everything is locally sourced and made with love. The menu is naturally vegan with add-ons to make it not vegan for those friends.

Out of all of the spots, you’ll visit- this one will be a mission. Smack dab in the middle between a donut shop and a pizzeria is The Juice Experiment. While 99% of their menu is vegan you can bring a nonvegan friend and they’ll find something on the menu to their liking too!
Urth

Okay, talk about gallon juices and great smoothies. Not to mention that they have a student discount. They make a lot of stuff inhouse too, and IMO that’s a huge plus.
