The view from the rooftop at the Rooftop at the Fairmount

...so far. I fell like as a city we’re still in the awkward teenage years of development. Granted San Antonio is one of the oldest cities but since it’s been growing at a rapid pace- I’m currently excited to see what’s going to pop-up in the next couple of years.

One of the biggest things I see that’s been coming up lately in SA is the rooftop bar. I mean the skyline is changing, so why not add different areas viewpoints to be able to admire the cities from. We’re still in need of rooftop parties- so if you know of anyone hosting one please send me all the info.

As I hear of more rooftop bars coming in SA- they’ll be added. These bars are in no particular order.

Lush Rooftop

Located on the far northwest side of San Antonio, Lush Rooftop has got the club vibe for you. Meaning this is great for dancing your cares away! Great music, bottle service and it’s 18+ on some nights. You’ll likely find a youthful crowd- more college-aged then again age is a number so if you’re feeling young why not check it out.

Burnhouse

Located in the same shopping center is Burnhouse- so basically you can club hop from one side to the other if that’s your fancy. They have a lot of themed nights and the crowd is also pretty young.

Sanchos

If you haven’t had rooftop margs at Sanchos then are you really living? Some of the best conversations I’ve shared with people have been on this rooftop. During the day it gets pretty hot up there, especially in the summer but at night it’s a great place to just chill.

The Rooftop at the Fairmount

Between The Rooftop at the Fairmount and next bar- both have some of the best views of the city. The Rooftop boasts one of the best views of Hemisfair in the city- so like why not take advantage of it.

Paramour

I’ll lead with the fact that I’ve only been here during the day and for drag brunch. Mostly because I’ve reached an age where I’d prefer low-key, smaller places where I can hear myself think. But the things I love about Paramour are the drinks, the eclectic vibe and the views of downtown. One of the best sunset views in the city as well as one of the best rooftop bars in SA.

Bar America

This dive bar in Southtown is a crowd favorite. Bar America’s most recent addition is a small little rooftop terrace that you can get to through the back. It’s got a good view of the city, affordable drinks and it’s got a great vibe to hang with friends at.

The Sandbox

Another northwest San Antonio bar, The Sandbox, is another northwest rooftop bar located by UTSA. They offer a variety of food which differs them slightly from some of the bars on the list, it has games and you can even catch a game on many of the TVs around.
